Very beautiful restaurant with excellent food options for vegetarians! The food is so fresh and vibrant and packed with flavor. Beautuful presentation on every dish. I really recommend the tomato burrata and smashed cucumbers! This place has a really nice upscale lounge ambiance. The staff are extremely friendly and take very good care of you! Would highly recommend trying the new gem out!
We went on a weeknight and it was a fantastic experience; reflection of a cohesive kitchen and team. There’s something for everyone in the menu - whether you’re craving for a tasty appetizer or a filling main course. Brix & Barrel is the new gem of Calgary! The dried apricot blew my mind with its acidity that complimented the rich short rib and the mashed potatoes (with a kick). The carpaccio is the best I’ve tasted in the city. Those capers were such a fine touch. The tomatoes are juicy and matched the shrimp’s delicate taste. I’ll be back for sure. The cocktail - I tried the Smoke Rose. It was so refreshing! I liked the dramatic ambience and the homage to A. Bourdain and K. Cobain. More power B&B!
Came for lunch with coworkers and it was easy to make reservations online and the restaurant was spacious and interior was nice. Staff was friendly and food was great! We had the salt & pepper squid and it was seasoned great and had a bit of kick to it with some chili peppers as garnish. I had the katsu chicken salad and the portion of the katsu was big. Would definitely come back again.
Great atmosphere. Great food. It's in a nice location downtown. This location is large & has lots of tables and booths. Love the jerk chicken!! Best part of my meal.

Brix and Barrel had hosted a beautiful event for me and my husband with our closest friends to celebrate our wedding. Everything went great! They also allowed us to set up some decorations as well and were very helpful with that. Matt routinely checked in and Tyler made sure our guests never had an empty glass. The food and atmosphere was amazing. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again! Definitely recommend for anyone with up coming parties or just stopping by for lunch!
Went for supper straight after work. The atmosphere was pleasant. Wasn’t crowded or no loud music. Just right amount of noise after a busy long day at work. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer which was refreshing. Very different than your regular type. For main, we had Chicken Schnitzel. So delicious and perfect to feed some very hungry humans. I found the menu was quite reasonably priced and good portions too. I am always a big fan of good quality cultures and proper napkins instead of high quality paper napkins. A fabric napkin is just classic and feels good. The service was positive and welcoming. Definitely would like to go again.
Just ate here with a friend yesterday for the first time to celebrate my birthday and the experience was delightful! The patio offered an excellent atmosphere with greenery and comfortable seating, the food was delicious, and the drinks great also. The highlight was the mussels and truffle fries, which went together perfectly. We also had the salmon carpaccio and split the tagliatelle pasta - both delicious! The happy hour menu did not disappoint here and we made great use of the deals! Our server, Madi (hope I got the spelling correct..), tied the whole experience together with top notch service. She visited the table frequently to see how we were doing and how the food tasted, to ask if we needed anything else, and even brought us out birthday Shaft on Drafts! I would definitely come back here and enjoy those mussels and fries again and would love to try some other menu items.
